Сучасні підходи до генетичної інженерії в родині Orchidaceae

Орхідні є однією з найпоширеніших груп квіткових рослин з широким географічним ареалом та видовим різноманіттям. Низку тропічних та субтропічних видів використовують як декоративні, лікарські та їстівні. Існує підвищений попит на рослинний матеріал, значна частина видів в природі знаходяться під загрозою зникнення, тому вирощування орхідних в культурі є актуальним. Традиційно, нові цікаві форми отримували завдяки гібридизації та селекції, які вимагають значного часу. Не всі вимоги, які висувають до елітних сортів, можуть бути вирішені традиційними методами селекції. Застосування досягнень сучасної молекулярної біології значно розширює можливості селекціонерів. Розвиток методів генетичної інженерії дозволяє вводити як нові гетерологічні гени, так і редагувати гени самих орхідних, що здатне значно прискорити та збільшити успішність традиційного селеційного процесу. Представники родини Orchidaceae можуть бути використані не лише як реципієнти цінних гетерологічних генів, але і як донори унікальних генів для поліпшення культивованих видів інших родин. В огляді розглянуто сучасний стан та перспективи генетичної інженерії орхідних, їх використання як реципієнтів та донорів генів при генетичній трансформації.
