SUMMARY. The frequency of tumour formation has been studied during interaction of wild and mutant agrobacteria strains with plants of four species of Solanaceae grown in vitro. Conditions which promote maximal callus and shoot formation are revealed. Clones with opindehydrogenase activity are selected while cloning tumour cells on the hormone-free medium that testifies to the transformation occurred in the cells.
