Genetic Analysis of Rye Endopeptidase: Inheritance and Chromosomal Control
SUMMARY. Isozyme variants of rye endopeptidase revealed by the gel slab isoelectrofocusing were controlled by single structural gene designated Ep 1. The Ep 1 was located on the long arm of chromosome 6R and proved to be linked to the other isozyme marker gene Est A with a recombination value of 9.87±2.03 %. Linkage tests also showed that Ep 1 was inherited independently of the other loci studied including Got 3, Est B, beta-Amy 1, and alpha-Amy 2.
